The Provincial Government is pushing forward strategic steps for the economic development of North Kalimantan.

The development of industry, trade, cooperatives, and SMEs is seen as a crucial effort to drive economic activities in North Kalimantan (Kaltara). This was emphasized by Burhanuddin, S.Sos.,M.Si, a Staff Expert in Economics, Development, and Inter-Institutional Relations, during the Technical Meeting on Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs in North Kalimantan at Hotel Lotus Panaya on Tuesday (5/3). The event was themed "Synchronization of Programs/Activities in the Field of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs to Strengthen the Industrial and Trade Sectors of Regional Leading Commodities for Economic Growth Towards North Kalimantan's Transformation to Prosperity." "Kaltara has immense natural resources potential to be developed in the future, making it a highly promising investment destination, especially in the industrial, trade, cooperative, and SME sectors," said Burhanuddin, reading the Governor of Kaltara's address.
The implementation of this event serves as an appropriate and strategic platform to build good communication between District/City Governments and the Provincial Government. Furthermore, Burhanuddin mentioned the need for strategies to anticipate the dynamics of rapid economic and technological development and to seize market opportunities for developing leading regional commodities and creative economy. Therefore, he encouraged the participants to delve into and formulate the direction of program implementation in line with planning documents and to evaluate existing programs. "Hopefully, through this technical coordination meeting, programs that synergize between the central and regional governments can be designed, resulting in appropriate outcomes for economic growth in the Province of North Kalimantan," he concluded.
