The Ministry of Industry is pushing for the enhancement of green industry human resources to realize Net-Zero Emissions (NZE).

The Ministry of Industry is pushing for the improvement of human resources quality in the green industry sector to achieve national net zero emissions (NZE) by 2050, ten years ahead of schedule. Masrokhan, the Head of the Human Resources Development Agency for Industry (BPSDMI) at the Ministry of Industry, stated in Jakarta on Monday that enhancing human resources in the green industry utilizing renewable energy is being realized through educational institutions developed by the ministry. "To foster the enhancement of human resources quality in industry, particularly among Ministry of Industry graduates, we encourage students to delve deeper into the application of green industries," he said.Masrokhan highlighted the outcome of this commitment in the form of research conducted by students of the Polytechnic Academy of Industrial Engineering (ATI) in Makassar, focusing on the production of silica to enhance the value-added of rice milling products. Their research paper won third place in the National Scientific Paper Competition - Hasanuddin Techno Fest #8 themed Renewable Energy for National Prosperity on March 8, 2024. He further emphasized that this achievement aligns with the motto of educational units managed by the Ministry of Industry, "One Vocational Unit, One Great Achievement." He stressed the importance of consistently implementing this motto throughout all working units under BPSDMI to ensure the annual delivery and reporting of significant achievements.

Previously, on Saturday (March 2), the Head of the Standardization and Industrial Service Policy Agency (BSKJI) at the Ministry of Industry, Andi Rizaldi, revealed that the implementation of green industry principles prioritizes efficiency and effectiveness efforts to align industrial development with environmental sustainability. He mentioned that to regulate energy resource utilization, the government has enacted Government Regulation No. 33 of 2023 concerning Energy Conservation. The primary goal of this regulation is to ensure sustainable national energy availability by implementing efficient energy technology, promoting energy-efficient and rational energy use, and fostering an energy-saving culture. Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry continues to encourage manufacturing companies in Indonesia to adopt green industry principles in their production processes, aiming to prioritize efficiency and effectiveness efforts while aligning industrial development with environmental conservation goals.
