It aims to stimulate economic growth in border areas. President Joko Widodo's commitment to border region development is underscored by his visits to the Indonesia-Timor-Leste border, reinforcing Indonesia's dedication to the region's progress.

Furthermore, the Indonesian government commits to providing educational opportunities for Timorese students, with the Indonesian Embassy in Timor-Leste offering 50 to 100 scholarships specifically to Oikos students this year. Meanwhile, Arsenio Bano, Head of the Special Administrative Region of Oikos, views the business and investment forum organized by the Indonesian Embassy as crucial for border economy improvement. Stakeholders can convene to discuss strategies for enhancing economic cooperation between Indonesia and Timor-Leste.
