Kabupaten Mojokerto introduces the Desa BSI (Desa Bangun Sejahtera Indonesia) program, specifically focusing on the Livestock Cluster for Sheep and Goats. Developed by BSI Maslahat in collaboration with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), this initiative aims to enhance the local community's economic development through the utilization of BSI's Corporate Zakat Fund. According to the Mojokerto Regency Government's website (11/3/2024), Mojokerto Regent, Ikfina Fahmawati, inaugurated the program in Banyulegi Village, Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency. Covering an area of approximately 2.25 hectares, the Mandiri Makmur Sejahtera independent livestock groups will manage a minimum of 432 goats and sheep. The establishment of the Desa BSI Livestock Cluster makes Banyulegi Village the 20th village in Indonesia facilitated by BSI Maslahat for economic development.
Regent Ikfina highlighted the adoption of modern livestock farming designs, emphasizing not only cleanliness but also introducing new experiences to the community in animal husbandry. Furthermore, she emphasized the community's self-management of feed processing and animal waste, aiming to benefit all residents of Banyulegi Village. The implementation of modern livestock farming is anticipated to create waste-free farms and boost the local economy, fostering sustainable economic growth in Banyulegi Village.
