Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Wamenparekraf) Angela Tanoesoedibjo met with representatives from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz/BMWK) of Germany to discuss potential cooperation between the creative economy sectors of Indonesia and Germany. "RI's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy oversees six tourism polytechnics, with a German language curriculum available at Poltekpar Bali. Therefore, we aim to establish cooperation in student and teacher exchanges with educational institutions in Germany, enabling us to introduce German language curricula at five other tourism polytechnics under the coordination of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy," said Angela, as reported by Antara on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Angela met with BMWK's Federal Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism, Dieter Gerald Janecak. She mentioned that several topics were discussed during the meeting, including tourism promotion and publicity, tourism-related investments, and human resource development (HRD) in the tourism sector. In addition to strengthening collaboration in human resource development, Angela stated that the meeting also addressed enhancing cooperation in the creative economy sector. She highlighted that in 2018, the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) had established cooperation with the German Accelerator Southeast Asia, managed by the Start2 Group and funded by BMWK. "This collaboration is expected to further strengthen efforts to advance Indonesia's and Germany's creative economy sectors," she remarked. Furthermore, Deputy Minister Angela mentioned the potential for green economic cooperation between Indonesia and Germany, which was also discussed during the meeting. "I believe this should be thoroughly discussed because it presents an opportunity for Indonesia and Germany to collaborate in developing the potential of green economies as part of efforts to mitigate climate change," she stated.
