The Indonesian government has revealed plans for the commencement of mass production of electric vehicle (EV) batteries in April 2024. PT Hyundai LG Indonesia (HLI) Green Power, based in Karawang, West Java, stands at the forefront of this initiative, poised to lead the charge in transforming nickel into high-quality batteries for electric vehicles.

This strategic move underscores the government's unwavering commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem for electric vehicles, exemplified by a substantial investment totaling USD 9.8 billion or approximately IDR 142 trillion.
