Moringa leaves, known for their myriad benefits despite their small size, are oval-shaped with stems. The trees can grow up to 11 meters tall, adorned with fragrant yellow flowers at the tips of their branches. These leaves are highly beneficial for health, serving as a valuable complement to daily meals and a herbal remedy. In Indonesia, moringa is also utilized for tea and capsules for medical purposes. This plant holds significant economic value as it is in high demand by various countries for consumption and industrial purposes, particularly as moringa oil. Moringa oil has diverse uses, ranging from cosmetics and medicines to cooking oil and lubricants.
Notably, moringa oil is being exported to the western state of the United States, Colorado. The Government of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is actively working to boost the export of processed moringa oil products. The provincial government of NTT has developed a roadmap for the development of moringa as a leading commodity and continues to promote the export of processed moringa products.
