Maluku Provincial Tourism Office Targets 14,355 Foreign Tourist Visits in 2024

The Maluku Provincial Tourism Office (Dispar) aims to attract 14,356 foreign tourists and 429,763 domestic tourists in 2024. Head of Dispar Maluku, Achmad Jais Ely, emphasized the focus on increasing both foreign and domestic tourist visits to Maluku, aligning with President Joko Widodo's "Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia" (BBWI) program. Achieving these targets requires collaboration with tourism stakeholders to enhance destination quality, accessibility, and cultural attractions across the 11 districts/cities in Maluku. Jais stressed the importance of promoting Maluku through various media channels and national/international events to raise its profile. With its breathtaking natural beauty, diverse culture, and rich history, Maluku is undeniably attractive to both domestic and international tourists. Through concerted efforts, Maluku aims to welcome more visitors in 2024, positioning itself as a leading tourist destination in Indonesia.
He also highlighted the potential of the creative economy sector, particularly local products, to support Maluku's tourism industry. Encouraging coordination and collaboration among tourism stakeholders is essential to achieve synergy in Maluku's tourism development goals.
