Schneider Electric™ organized the Innovation Day Medan 2024 event, showcasing various digital and automation solutions aimed at supporting the acceleration of green city and industry development in Medan and North Sumatra. The event, held on Tuesday (5/3/2024), featured a strategic collaboration announcement with Anak Teknik Indonesia, INKINDO DPP Sumatera Utara, and AKLI DPD Sumatera Utara to enhance digital competency. Part of Schneider Electric's Impact Maker initiative, this collaboration invites customers, partners, communities, and policymakers to accelerate climate action, transforming ambitions into actions through automation, electrification, and digitalization. Held at the JW Marriot Hotel, Innovation Day Medan aimed to share the latest technology trends, insights, and Schneider Electric's experiences in helping Medan's business sector transform into smarter and more sustainable operations. The event included industry leaders as speakers and showcased various integrated digital and automation solutions. These solutions ranged from software-centric automation-based operational automation, collaborative robotics systems, smart building management systems to more agile, reliable, and sustainable edge computing-based data management.
Martin Setiawan, Industry Business Vice President at Schneider Electric, highlighted Medan's strategic role as a major economic hub in western Indonesia. Medan's economy is largely supported by the construction, manufacturing, and processing industries. The city is also progressing towards becoming a green and smart city, being one of Indonesia's three cities listed in the Smart City Index (SCI) 2023. As part of the event, Reza Syarif, Building Business Vice President at Schneider Electric, emphasized the need for intelligent building management. With the majority of buildings worldwide currently inefficient in energy and resource use, technologies like EcoStruxure Building offer solutions to improve building efficiency, optimize comfort and productivity, and increase building value. Schneider Electric showcased several flagship solutions at the Innovation Day, including EcoStruxure™ Automation Expert, the first software-centric automation-based industrial automation system, and Lexium Cobot, designed to work collaboratively with humans in integrated robotic systems. Additionally, EcoStruxure™ Building, an Internet of Things-based architecture for smart building management infrastructure modernization and development, was also highlighted. These solutions aim to revolutionize industry practices, enhance productivity, and contribute to sustainable development in Medan and beyond.
