The value of Bali Province's exports during January 2024 increased by 38.63% compared to the previous month, from USD 47,426,169 in December 2023 to USD 65,744,692 in January 2024. Year-on-year (y-o-y), Bali's export value in January 2024 rose by 56.72%. Among the top five export destinations for Bali in January 2024, exports to Ireland notably increased by 42,772.67% compared to the previous month. This surge is primarily attributed to the rise in exports of machinery and mechanical equipment and parts, as stated by Endang Retno Sri, the Head of the Bali Province's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), in an official release.
In addition to export value, Bali Province's import performance in January 2024 also exhibited a significant increase. The value of imports into Bali Province from abroad in January 2024 amounted to USD 10,805,329, marking a 12.07% increase compared to December 2023 (m-t-m) recorded at USD 9,641,172. Meanwhile, y-o-y, Bali Province's import value in January 2024 experienced a 34.49% increase. "Among the top five importing countries in January 2024, imports from India recorded the highest month-to-month increase at 319.77%," continued Endang Retno Sri. This increase was driven by the rise in imports of machinery and mechanical equipment and parts.
