Indonesia has made its debut at the Salon International de l'Agriculture (SIA), one of the world's largest agricultural and livestock exhibitions. The event, held in Paris from February 24 to March 3, saw the participation of several Indonesian companies committed to sustainable practices and possessing geographical indication certificates. This historic participation in the 60th edition of SIA was facilitated through close collaboration between the Directorate General of America and Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Paris (KBRI Paris), and Indonesian businesses dedicated to the importance of sustainable agriculture. The Indonesian presence at the event showcased organic agricultural products, including coffee, cocoa, tea, spices, and various organic items. The collaboration aimed to boost the visibility and market access of sustainably produced Indonesian agricultural products in the international market. Through this initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed to highlight Indonesia's commitment to sustainable farming practices and promote the country's organic agricultural offerings to a wider international audience.
The Indonesian booth not only featured organic agricultural products but also presented efforts undertaken by Indonesian participants in implementing sustainable farming practices. With over 615,000 visitors and 40,000 professionals attending the previous year's SIA, this year's event attracted around 1,100 exhibitors from France and abroad. The extensive media coverage from both French and international outlets provides a valuable platform for Indonesia to showcase its sustainable agricultural initiatives and promote its organic products on the global stage.
