PEMA-LAMI KSO, a partnership between PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA) Perseroda and PT Laot Aceh Marina Indonesia, successfully ventured into the Malaysian export market on February 23, 2024, following a trial lobster shipment to Java Island. Transported via Air Asia from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Aceh Besar to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, the shipment comprised 2 crates. Reza Irwanda, PEMA-LAMI KSO's Project Manager, highlighted the significance of this inaugural export in fostering opportunities for Aceh's fisheries sector, particularly lobster, by engaging local fishermen to sustain future supply. This marks the beginning of PEMA-LAMI KSO's broader strategy to export various marine products from Aceh to other countries. Previously, the collaboration successfully shipped 483,000 kg of frozen products like Cakalang & Baby Tuna to Java Island and subsequently delivered 4 crates of lobsters to local markets in Jakarta and Banten provinces.

PEMA-LAMI KSO received support from PT Integrasi Aviasi Solusi and PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Aceh Besar for this inaugural export. Azmullah Alfajri, PT. Integrasi Aviasi Solusi's Station Manager, expressed hope for further advancement in Aceh's fisheries sector, aiming to export various commodities directly from Aceh. Ali Mulyagusdin, PT PEMA's Director, praised PEMA-LAMI KSO's milestone in exporting lobsters to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attributing it to collective efforts and stressing the need to maximize Aceh's marine potential.The export was facilitated by infrastructure such as Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Aceh Besar, which has contributed to boosting exports from Aceh to Asian destinations. In conclusion, PEMA-LAMI KSO's successful export to Malaysia represents a significant step towards expanding Aceh's fisheries sector in the global market, demonstrating the region's potential to supply various marine products internationally.
