Batik Madura Cakrawala Expands to Export Markets, Shipping to Singapore and Malaysia

Batik Madura Cakrawala, originating from Bangkalan, not only extends its reach nationally but also breaks into the export market targeting several Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. The products from this Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Bangkalan are shipped on a unit scale according to market demand. Azza Nur Fadilah, the manager of one of the UMKMs under the supervision of Disperinaker Bangkalan, explains that while the current market scale is national, the export involves sending individual units based on orders from buyers in Singapore or Malaysia. Cakrawala Batik, an intergenerational UMKM, is currently managed by Azah after the passing of her beloved mother. Following her mother's demise, Azah took over the management and has been professionally marketing the products, meeting market demands.

The Batik Madura collection is characterized by flora and fauna motifs, reflecting the coastal nature of Madura, where the majority of the community is engaged in the fisheries sector. Azza elaborates that Madura batik has a long-standing association with motifs inspired by the coastal flora and fauna, rooted in the tradition of women engaging in batik when their husbands went fishing. The batik includes various types, with Gentongan and Sarimbit batik emerging as iconic products representing Madura. These batik variants have become best sellers, sought after by many individuals, and are recognized as the island's batik icons. The commitment to meeting international market demands by exporting to Singapore and Malaysia showcases the growth and recognition of Batik Madura Cakrawala beyond national borders, underlining its significance in the global market.
