Bupati Bandung, Dadang Supriatna, revealed that the investment in Kabupaten Bandung throughout 2022 reached IDR 29.4 trillion, exceeding the designated target of IDR 27.8 trillion. Dadang Supriatna, the Regent of Bandung, emphasized that investments, both domestic (PMD) and foreign (PMA), have consistently increased year by year, indicating a positive trend in the region's economic growth. He highlighted the continuous efforts of the local government to create a conducive investment climate, including regulatory measures to provide legal certainty to potential investors. Efforts to secure this investment climate are evident in the regulations related to the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) and Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) of Kabupaten Bandung. Dadang mentioned the completion of relevant regulations, stating that this progress contributes to a more favorable environment for future investments.
He underscored the significance of the RTRW regulation in the development process, ensuring legal certainty for potential investors regarding land utilization. Dadang acknowledged the efficiency of the approval process for this regulation, particularly in Kabupaten Bandung and Bali, which he described as notably rapid in the Indonesian context. Ben Indra Agusta, the Head of the Department of Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP) of Kabupaten Bandung, provided insights into the dominant sectors for investment in 2023. Infrastructure, particularly the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train facility in Tegalluar, geothermal energy exploration, and tourism were the three primary areas of focus. Agusta emphasized that geothermal exploration alone could attract investments of up to IDR 7 trillion annually. Looking ahead to 2024, the strategic focus will be on investments in geothermal energy, tourism, and agriculture. He expressed confidence in the conducive investment climate in Kabupaten Bandung, citing the region's supportive factors ranging from skilled human resources to robust infrastructure, facilitating the arrival of both domestic and international investors seamlessly. These facilitative measures led to Kabupaten Bandung receiving recognition at the West Java Investment Award (WJIA) 2023, showcasing the successful performance in investment promotion and implementation.
