Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Outlines Five Targets for Achieving Golden Indonesia 2045

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, has outlined five key targets crucial for realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia in 2045. Addressing the International Conference on law, policy, and politics initiated by Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu, Effendy emphasized the necessity of achieving parameters that include a high per capita income equivalent to developed countries (USD 30,300), a zero percent poverty rate, and an unemployment rate of four percent. The other targets involve attaining a high literacy rate and reducing infant mortality to below eight deaths per one thousand births. To foster competent and competitive human resources, Effendy highlighted the government's commitment through the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2022, focusing on the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training. This regulation, enacted on April 27, 2022, aims to prepare a superior, competitive, qualified, skilled, and competent workforce aligned with the evolving demands of the global job market.

In the pursuit of becoming a developed nation and realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, the emphasis lies in the preparation of competent, productive, and competitive human resources across various industrial sectors and fields. Additionally, the promotion of entrepreneurship is pivotal for achieving these targets. Despite significant challenges posed by globalization and the digital technology era, Minister Effendy sees the demographic composition of Indonesia, dominated by Generation Z and millennials, as a substantial opportunity. Generation Z constitutes 27.94 percent (75.49 million people), while millennials account for 25.87 percent (69.90 million people). Effendy urged collective efforts and collaboration to overcome challenges and fulfill the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. The minister's statement underlines the crucial role of competent human resources in steering Indonesia toward economic development and competitiveness in the global landscape, reinforcing the importance of a multifaceted approach to address the diverse challenges and opportunities faced by the nation.
