Ngancar, a sub-district within Kabupaten Kediri, is not only a prominent tourist destination due to Mount Kelud but is also recognized for its potential in pineapple cultivation. The region has been actively engaged in pineapple exports to Oman and Jeddah, showcasing the diverse economic opportunities present in this area. The pineapple industry in Ngancar spans over 3,000 hectares, featuring vibrant yellow pineapples with a delightful sweet and tangy taste. Vinorita, the Head of Seedling and Horticultural Plant Protection at the Department of Agriculture and Plantation of Kabupaten Kediri, attests to the excellent potential of pineapple cultivation in Ngancar.

Vinorita emphasizes that each hectare in Ngancar accommodates an impressive population of 40,000 to 50,000 pineapple plants. During the harvest season, the region is capable of yielding hundreds of tons of fresh pineapples ready for production. In 2022, Kabupaten Kediri marked its debut in pineapple exports, sending 10 tons of fresh simplex variety pineapples to Oman. The success continued into 2023 with an export of 20 tons of fresh pineapples to Jeddah. Vinorita anticipates that these export activities will open up new market opportunities, enhancing the market value of horticultural products in Kabupaten Kediri, particularly in the pineapple sector. The increased international exposure is not only a testament to the quality of pineapples produced in Ngancar but also positions the region as a key player in the global pineapple market.
