Pariaman's Commitment to Local Tourism Development Bolsters Economic Prospects

The Municipal Government of Pariaman in Sumatera Barat has reaffirmed its dedication to advancing local tourism potential with a focus on bolstering the community's economy, particularly local businesses. The commitment involves active engagement with the entire community, business entities, and local authorities. Pariaman boasts several prominent tourist destinations, including Gandoriah Beach and Angso Duo Island, complemented by cultural attractions like the enchanting Hoyak Tabuik festival. Despite having various other noteworthy destinations such as Kata Beach, Cermin Beach, Apar Beach, and Talao Park, the Pariaman Municipal Government has embarked on opening a new coastal road. The initiative aims to leverage the tourism potential, particularly along the newly opened coastal route, fostering economic growth within the community. Ferialdi, the Acting Head of the Department of Tourism and Culture in Pariaman, expressed optimism, stating, "With the support of all parties, we hope Pariaman can become a leading tourism destination in Indonesia, providing positive economic impacts and enhancing the well-being of the local community." The collective efforts of the tourism industry and the citizens of Pariaman recently earned the city the national-level 3rd Best Award in the Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia (BBWI) 2023 event by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia on December 13, 2023.

The BBWI award, initiated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, aims to promote and develop local products and tourism in Indonesia. Ferialdi hopes this achievement sparks collaborative spirit and innovation in Pariaman, leading to continuous growth in the tourism sector and sustainable contributions to the economic development of the community and the region. Earlier reports highlight that Pariaman recorded an investment realization of IDR 12 billion in the tourism sector, making it the second-largest sector for capital investment after property development. Gusniyeti Zaunit, Head of the Integrated One-Stop Service and Manpower Investment Office in Pariaman, emphasized that these investments cover various tourism support facilities, including accommodations, restaurants, and cafes. The vast potential for tourism investment in Pariaman spans across overall tourism management. The municipal government's initiative to open new routes in coastal and strategic locations further enhances opportunities for new tourist destinations, presenting a positive outlook for increased tourism-related investments in the region.
