Indonesian Export Financing Institution Channels IDR 8.7 Trillion to Special Export Programs Boosting Tourism

In a significant stride towards advancing Indonesia's export potential, the Indonesian Export Financing Institution (LPEI) and PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) have collaborated to provide financing and credit guarantees totaling IDR 1.05 trillion to PT. Indonesia Ferry Properti (IFPRO) for the development of the Mariana Labuan Bajo area in East Nusa Tenggara. LPEI, for the first time, assumes the role of Joint Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners (JMLAB) in this partnership. Maqin U. Norhadi, the Executive Director of Business Development at LPEI, highlighted the government's commitment to building Indonesia's exports, particularly in the tourism sector. The Mariana Labuan Bajo region is deemed to have high developmental impact potential, contributing significantly to foreign exchange earnings from international tourists and creating a multiplier effect for related industries, especially SMEs in the area. Ferry Snyders, the CEO of PT Indonesia Ferry Properti, noted that the credit agreement signing would enhance the appeal of Labuan Bajo, attracting both domestic and international tourists. The Special Assignment to LPEI for the Development of Marina Infrastructure and Tourism Support in Super Priority Tourism Destinations was issued through the Minister of Finance Decree (KMK) No. 272/KMK.08/2022 on July 5, 2022.

A total allocation of IDR 8.7 trillion has been assigned for various Special Export Assignment (PKE) programs, including PKE Tourism in Mandalika, PKE SMEs, PKE Transportation Equipment, and more. LPEI aims to continue collaborating with the export ecosystem, especially financial institutions like BCA, to enhance competitiveness for businesses, fostering growth and development to increase the country's foreign exchange earnings. Rudy Kurniawan, VP of Corporate Banking Group at BCA, affirmed BCA's commitment to financing the development of domestic tourism destinations, expressing hopes that the disbursed credit would stimulate tourism and the economy in Indonesia, particularly in the East Nusa Tenggara region. As a Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) of the Ministry of Finance, LPEI remains dedicated to supporting strategic projects like this, driving national economic growth, particularly in the tourism sector, and creating new opportunities for businesses in Indonesia.
