Indonesia Exports Frozen Chicken to Singapore Worth IDR 1,012 Billion

PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk has successfully entered the Singaporean market with its frozen whole chicken products. Approximately 1 container of frozen chicken and 1 container of processed products from PT Malindo Food Delight, valued at around USD 65,000 or IDR 1,012 billion (at an exchange rate of IDR 15,573), were shipped from the Poultry Slaughtering House (RPHU) of PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk in Cijunti Village, Campaka Sub-district, Purwakarta Regency, West Java, on Friday (8/12/2023). Director of PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk, Rewin Hanrahan, stated that PT Malindo has fulfilled the requirements set by the Singaporean government, specifically the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). The SFA mandates that exported products must originate from farms certified free from Avian Influenza and must not be detected with viruses or bacteria such as Salmonella. RPHU PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk boasts a slaughtering capacity of 3,000 heads/hour and a cold storage capacity of 500 tons. Additionally, they hold ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System, Level 1 Veterinary Control Number (NKV), and Halal certificates.

"We target to export frozen chicken and processed products to Singapore again in early 2024 and expand exports to Japan. Moreover, we aim to realize exports of processed products to the United Arab Emirates," concluded Rewin. The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), through the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, commended PT Malindo Feedmill's success in penetrating the Singaporean market. Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, Nasrullah, appreciated the achievement, recognizing the challenges posed by Singapore's stringent export requirements. Nasrullah emphasized that to meet export requirements and open markets in other countries, the Ministry of Agriculture has implemented various standards and regulations, focusing on producing high-quality livestock-origin food products. At the producer level, Kementan, through the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, supports businesses in implementing Good Breeding Practice (GBP), Good Farming Practice (GFP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure the production of quality livestock. The application of Avian Influenza (AI)-free Compartmentalization is one of the Ministry of Agriculture's policies to enhance the quality of exported poultry and its products. Director of Processing and Marketing of Livestock Products, Tri Melasari, mentioned that efforts to open the poultry product market to Singapore have been ongoing since 2022. This initiative reflects Indonesia's concrete steps toward achieving regional food security, particularly in ASEAN.
