During the forum, key government figures, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanché, engaged with sector operators and trade associations. The event spanned two days, with the first focusing on key tourism sectors defining Italy's global allure and the second exploring foundational pillars for Italian tourism development. Minister Daniela Santanché emphasized the event's significance, fostering a collaborative evaluation of tourism's impact on the economy, culture, and society. She highlighted the centrality of the industry, emphasizing its role as the beating heart and soul of Italy. Special attention was given to sports tourism, with a specific focus on dirt roads as an opportunity to explore the territory.
On the sidelines, Rocco Lopardo, Vice President of FMI and Coordinator of the Tourist Commission, underscored the importance of Motorcycle Tourism to political representatives and professionals. Noteworthy figures for 2023 were presented, including over 1,600 federal events throughout Italy. The Regions Trophy and the FIM Rally 2024 were highlighted as sector flagships. Giovanni Copioli, FMI President, stressed the relevance of Motorcycle Tourism in Italy's economic context, asserting that Mototurismo combined with Made in Italy is highly attractive and guarantees quality. He expressed pride in contributing to the discussion between the government and sector operators, hoping for future opportunities.
