Private Investment in Indonesian Capital City Project Reaches IDR 45 Trillion, Focused on Basic Infrastructure Development

The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, reports successful private investment inflows into the construction of basic infrastructure in the Indonesian Capital City or IKN Nusantara. This development has positively impacted various sectors, including the establishment of hospitals, hotels, offices, commercial and retail spaces, as well as sports development centers. Referring to the report from the Capital City Authority (OIKN), Basuki reveals that private investments from September to December 2023 amounted to IDR 45 trillion. During the period from 2020 to 2024, the infrastructure support for IKN reached IDR 60.99 trillion, covering 85 infrastructure development packages. As of November 1, 2023, the overall physical progress of construction has reached 22.18%. Batch 1 (from 2020 to March 2023) constitutes IDR 24.53 trillion, with a progress rate of 53.2%. This includes government offices, the presidential office, toll roads, and more. Batch 2 (after March 2023) amounts to IDR 36.46 trillion, with a progress rate of 1.2%, covering projects like wastewater treatment facilities, water infrastructure, and land clearing in areas 1B and 1C.

In 2023, the Ministry of PUPR has allocated IDR 25.32 trillion for basic infrastructure development in IKN. This budget will be distributed among various directorates, including IDR 1.05 trillion for the Directorate General of Water Resources, IDR 9.72 trillion for the Directorate General of Highways, IDR 11.3 trillion for the Directorate General of Spatial Planning, IDR 4.22 trillion for the Directorate General of Housing, and IDR 30 billion for the Directorate General of Construction. This allocation covers a range of projects such as the construction of dams, intake structures, embankments, roads, logistic routes, airports, and waste management. The diversified investment is expected to boost the foundational aspects of IKN Nusantara and contribute significantly to its ongoing development.
