The city of Bandung stands as a crucial economic hub in West Java Province, where numerous economic transactions unfold. Johannes Nangoi, Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association (GAIKINDO), emphasized this during the opening ceremony of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023 in Bandung on Wednesday (22/11/2023). "With the organization of GIIAS in Bandung, the Indonesian automotive industry has the opportunity to introduce new models and technologies, specifically for the people of West Java, thus continually unlocking and maximizing the potential of West Java," he stated as per the official release from Seven Events, the organizer. GAIKINDO aims to be an integral part of the motor vehicle industry's growth in West Java. Bey Machmudin, the Acting Governor of West Java, represented by Dedi Taufik, Head of the West Java Regional Revenue Agency, expressed gratitude to GAIKINDO for hosting the GIIAS Bandung 2023 exhibition.
"We hope GIIAS 2023 Bandung can be beneficial for the city of Bandung. We also hope that the implementation of GIIAS in West Java can enhance economic transactions in West Java," mentioned Dedi Taufik. Dedi Taufik, in his address, expressed hope that GIIAS Bandung continues to be a significant event in West Java. Taufiek Bawazier, Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) at the Ministry of Industry, conveyed that GIIAS The Series is an automotive exhibition series organized by GAIKINDO in strategic cities across Indonesia. "GIIAS Bandung 2023 is the fourth and final city in the GIIAS The Series 2023 sequence, which has been successfully held in August in Tangerang, September in Surabaya, and October in Semarang," he explained. The Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Taufiek Bawazier, accompanied by Dedi Taufik, Head of the West Java Regional Revenue Agency, Phinera Wijaya, Chairman of the West Java DPRD Commission III, Yohannes Nangoi, Chairman of GAIKINDO, and Rizwan Alamsjah, officially inaugurated GIIAS Bandung 2023 today. Taufiek Bawazier added that the direct organization of GIIAS The Series 2023 is expected to boost the productivity factor and increase the utilization of domestic vehicle production. It serves as evidence that the automotive industry, designated as a flagship industry, can significantly contribute to Indonesia's economic growth.
