Investment in Makassar Exceeds Q3 Target, Reaching IDR 4.93 Trillion

During the third quarter, Makassar City attracted significant investment, surpassing expectations and achieving remarkable figures, as reported by the Makassar City Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency (DPM-PTSP). Cumulatively for the period from January to September 2023, the recorded investment in Makassar City reached IDR 4.93 trillion. A. Zulkifly, the Head of DPM-PTSP Makassar, highlighted that in Q3 2023, Makassar City led in investment realisation in South Sulawesi. The city's achievement amounted to IDR 4.93 trillion, contributing 39.72% to the total investment in South Sulawesi, which stood at IDR 12.41 trillion. Zulkifly stated, "The investment realisation in Q3 2023 has exceeded the target of IDR 4.1 trillion, reaching IDR 4.93 trillion or 119.51%."

Breaking down the total investment, domestic investment (PMDN) accounted for approximately 90.6%, totaling IDR 3.48 trillion. Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) contributed IDR 454 billion, representing 9.4% of the total investment in Makassar City. He further noted that Malaysia led in foreign investment with IDR 139.63 billion, followed by Singapore with IDR 133.7 billion, India, and China. It is noteworthy that Makassar's investment realisation is approaching the total investment for the entire province of South Sulawesi. In Q3 2023 alone, South Sulawesi recorded an investment of IDR 5.417 trillion, bringing the total investment in the province from January to September 2023 to IDR 12.418 trillion. The robust investment performance in Makassar reflects positive economic prospects, indicating the city's attractiveness to both domestic and foreign investors.
