The Indonesian Embassy in Kazakhstan (KBRI) is optimistic that Indonesian products can enter the market in Kazakhstan and Central Asia through the Food Expo Qazaqstan held from November 1st to 3rd, 2023, in Almaty. As reported by Antara on Monday (6/11), the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, M. Fadjroel Rachman, expressed that they are actively promoting opportunities for the export of Indonesian products to Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Food Expo Qazaqstan is the largest international food and beverage industry exhibition in Central Asia. Indonesia participated in this event after taking part in the largest halal product exhibition in the same region last September. "Trade promotion through large regional expos needs to be intensified to prepare for the planned approval of the Indonesia-Eurasia free trade agreement next year," said Fadjroel.
At the Food Expo Qazaqstan, KBRI Astana collaborated with the Bali Tourism Board, which is a union of the Indonesian Bali Tourism Industry, to promote Indonesian tourist destinations, particularly Bali, the Island of the Gods. KBRI Astana's participation in the exhibition is expected to not only expand the domestic product export market but also enhance bilateral relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan as they celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations.This year's Food Expo Qazaqstan exhibition had 588 companies from 59 countries participating. Approximately 7,000 visitors, primarily entrepreneurs and professionals in the food and beverage industry, attended the event. KBRI Astana facilitated exhibition booths for more than 12 Indonesian companies and SMEs to participate in Food Expo Qazaqstan 2023. Indonesia's involvement in this exhibition is considered crucial for establishing business contacts with various entrepreneurs and industry players in the region.
