The National Digital and Electronic Industry Is Ready to Capture the Global Market

Digitalization has been a global trend over the past decade and is projected to remain a primary driver of worldwide economic growth, including in Indonesia. The Director-General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industry (ILMATE), emphasised that digital transformation is a necessity for the national manufacturing industry. It aims to enhance efficiency and foster technological innovation, thereby boosting competitiveness on the global stage. Digital industry players in Indonesia continue to grow in line with the Making Indonesia 4.0 initiative advocated by the government. Digital and electronic products from Indonesia, which are continually improving in quality, are now capable of competing in the global market. To introduce the capabilities of the national digital and electronic industry to the international community and expand their market access, the Ministry of Industry facilitated the participation of six digital and electronic industrial producers in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) from October 13 to 16, 2023.

The promotion at this exhibition is intended to introduce national products, services, and industrial technologies to the international market, particularly in the electronic and digital industries. The Indonesian Pavilion in Hall 5 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center showcased various technologies and products from the national industry. These included fibre optic cables, digital health devices, robotics, and digital products such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Database Centers. During the exhibition, product promotion was also conducted at The Forum event on October 14, 2023, with two Indonesian companies presenting the advantages of their products: optical cable products (PT. CCSI) and AI products (PT. Solusi Pakai Muka). The Ministry of Industry also promoted investment during the series of events at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) by explaining the government's investment policies. The fiscal policies established by the government include tax holidays, tax allowances, and super tax deductions as strategies to stimulate investment, technology acquisition, and industrial structure strengthening, which can be utilised by industrial companies meeting the set criteria and requirements. Through the implementation of these policies, it is expected to have a positive impact on the strengthening and empowerment of the domestic electronic and telematics industry.
