Indonesia's Ministry of Industry reports that the country's jewelry industry is thriving globally, with jewelry and precious goods exports reaching USD 3.1 billion in the first seven months of 2023. The industry maintains a trade surplus of USD 3 billion, reflecting its competitiveness in international markets. Reni Yanita, the Director General of Small, Medium, and Various Industry (IKMA) at the Ministry of Industry, highlights key export destinations such as Singapore, the United States, Switzerland, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. Indonesia's market share in the global jewelry and precious goods market increased to 1.6% in 2022, ranking 17th among exporting nations, indicating room for further growth and market expansion.

In the face of globalization and intense competition, the Ministry of Industry is focusing on enhancing the jewelry industry's performance, aiming for high added value and competitiveness. This sector is considered essential for the national economy. The Director General commends the Indonesian Gold and Jewelry Entrepreneurs Association (APEPI) for consistently organizing jewelry exhibitions, providing a platform to expand marketing opportunities and promote Indonesia's jewelry products internationally. The efforts are expected to strengthen the jewelry industry and support its development in the domestic and global markets.
