The Sukabumi Regency Agriculture Office (Distan) has designated ornamental and cut flowers as a leading product for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to boost the local economy's growth in the agricultural sector. Ornamental and cut flowers from Sukabumi Regency are already widely recognized, both domestically and internationally. However, we aim to continuously enhance the quality and quantity of our products to meet the demands of the local, national, and export markets as stated by the Head of the Sukabumi Regency Agriculture Office, in Sukabumi on Tuesday, September 19th. He emphasized that the ornamental and cut flowers produced by farmers in Sukabumi Regency are flagship products, capable of increasing the income of farmers and the region. To achieve this goal, during the 153rd Anniversary celebration of Sukabumi Regency on Sunday, September 17th, they organized a flower festival. During this event, the Sukabumi Regency Agriculture Office crafted ornamental flowers into peacocks.

Their intention was to showcase that the peacock symbolizes beauty and luxury, with the aim of promoting ornamental and cut flower products from Sukabumi Regency, which possess unique attractions that can appeal to tourists, consumers, and investors alike. It's acknowledged that boosting these flagship products cannot be achieved instantly or with the snap of fingers; it requires a gradual process. Through these various processes, ornamental and cut flower products from Sukabumi Regency become the best they can be. The Office has designated ornamental and cut flowers as leading products because they have high economic value, and their market share is still open. Therefore, this business potential must be fully harnessed," he added. On another note, he mentioned that the flower festival held a few days ago was also a form of appreciation from their side for Sukabumi's flagship flowers, locally known as 'ngabumi.'
