The government appreciates the spirit of collaboration between PT. Eibier Suth Cokran, the Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency (BSIP), the Food Crop and Horticulture Office, and the Plantation Office of West Papua Province in promoting the production, quality, and competitiveness of cocoa from Ransiki. The export of agricultural commodities is one of the pillars of the national economy, contributing to foreign exchange earnings, as well as the income of farmers and entrepreneurs. The 5 tons of cocoa from Ransiki in South Manokwari Regency will be shipped to Surabaya before being sent to the Netherlands. Subsequently, this cocoa will be distributed to renowned chocolate companies in Europe, including Chocolat Chapon and Plaq in France, Taucherli and Halba Chocolat in Switzerland, Cacava in Russia, and Dandelion Chocolate in the USA. Ransiki cocoa has proven to meet recognized quality standards and has successfully penetrated the European market.
For all relevant agencies, government departments, vertical institutions, and development partners, it is crucial to optimize synergies and work with a clear and measurable outcome-oriented focus. The Head of the Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency of West Papua Province, explained that the exported Ransiki cocoa is of premium quality and adheres to national standards. In a year, the agency can export three times with one peak during the major harvest season. The agency also involves millennial farmers, teaching them how to engage in cocoa farming from upstream to downstream. These young people are willing to farm and produce. During the event, the Acting Secretary of West Papua symbolically handed over cocoa seedlings to representatives of PT. Eibeir Suth Cokran and coffee seedlings to millennial farmers in the Arfak Mountains Regency.
