The Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, has called on state-owned companies to support the progress of the national coffee industry and farmers. Speaking at the Indonesia Coffee Festival 2023, Thohir stated that state-owned companies must create solutions that integrate all stakeholders in the coffee industry, including through the Makmur program, an agricultural ecosystem to support productivity and farmer income.
In support of the sustainability of the national coffee industry, Thohir called on all involved parties to work together, and emphasized that Indonesia must be more active, have fighting spirit, and always provide solutions. The Makmur program, which involves Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries, aims to provide fertilizer and agricultural care. The program targets not only coffee, but also other strategic commodities such as rice, corn, soybeans, and others.
