Governor Herman Deru of South Sumatra has expressed his pride in being chosen as the host of the 1st National PGRI School Olympiad in 2023. The event is set to involve thousands of students from across Indonesia, and Deru has promised to support its success. As the host, Deru emphasized the need for South Sumatra to prepare carefully for the event and reminded participants to give their all in the various competitions, including in science, arts, and sports.
According to Deru, hosting national-scale events like this would have a positive impact on the region, including boosting the local economy. The event is expected to attract 5,000 participants, officials, and delegates from across Indonesia and will take place in September 2023. Ahmad Zulinto, Chairman of PGRI South Sumatra, expressed gratitude for Deru's support and promised to work hard to ensure the event's success and bring home numerous achievements.
