Indonesia's agricultural sector experienced positive growth in the first quarter of 2023. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), agriculture was even considered the most dominant sector, with a growth rate of 0.34% and a contribution of 11.77% to the economy. The BPS Deputy for Balance and Statistical Analysis, Moh Edy Mahmud, stated that the agricultural sector had entered the top four sectors contributing to economic growth, along with the industrial, mining, and construction sectors.
Indonesia's economic growth remained stable in the first three months of 2023, with a year-on-year growth rate of 5.03%. The growth of Indonesia's economy has been at 5% since the fourth quarter of 2021, indicating that the country's economic growth remains steady. The growth of the agricultural sector, particularly in the production of CPO and food and beverage products, has been one of the main drivers of economic activity in the first quarter of 2023, fueled by domestic demand in preparation for Ramadan and Eid.
