Minister Bahlil's Investment Strategy Boosts Indonesian Economic Growth to 5%

Indonesia's Investment Minister/Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, is optimistic that the country's economic growth in Q1 2023 could reach 5%, in line with the realization of investment achievements in Q1 2023, which managed to reach IDR 328.9 trillion. He believes that investment is an important component that can boost Indonesia's economic growth. Despite the predicted global economic slowdown this year, he is optimistic that with the push from investment, Indonesia's economy can grow as expected.

Economic observer Rosdiana Sijabat from Atma Jaya University appreciates Minister Bahlil's performance in increasing investment realization in Q1 2023, as this realization also contributes to Indonesia's economic growth, which is at 5.03%, despite facing various difficult domestic and global challenges. She hopes that the positive trend of investment and economic growth in Indonesia can be maintained and expects political spending by candidates to support economic growth. She also highlights the importance of household consumption as a factor supporting domestic economic growth and is optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth can remain around 5%.
