President Jokowi asserts Indonesia's strong commitment to building downstream industries and becoming part of the supply chain of the US and the world. He made the statement during a meeting with eight US congress members on Wednesday (03/05/2023) at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

The meeting discussed several issues, including the importance of increasing equal partnership between the two countries, limited free trade agreement between Indonesia and the US, and access to markets and non-discriminatory treatment for Indonesian exports to the US. President Jokowi also expressed his appreciation for the US support of Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN and urged the US to continue supporting the implementation of the "ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific."
