During the 2023 Eid al-Fitr holiday season in Indonesia, the tourism and creative economy (Parekraf) sectors saw an economic turnover of Rp335.3 trillion. This figure was announced by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, who revised the potential economic turnover for the third time during the holiday season.
The increase in the potential economic turnover is based on a Kemenparekraf survey that found the average spending of domestic tourists (wisnus) during the holiday season to be IDR 2.7 million, which increased from the previous prediction of IDR 1.9 million. Sandiaga and his team will coordinate with various agencies to ensure that the IDR 335 trillion will have a positive impact on the economy.
