According to data released by the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordination Board, investment realization in West Java during the first quarter of 2023 reached the highest position in Indonesia, amounting to Rp50 trillion, followed by DKI Jakarta, East Java, Central Sulawesi, and Banten. To achieve the investment realization target of Rp188 trillion in 2023, five regions in West Java are expected to become the backbone of investment, namely the cities and regencies of Bekasi, Bogor, Karawang, and Purwakarta, with Bekasi targeted to have the largest investment of around IDR 50 trillion.
The Ministry of Investment/BKPM is optimistic that economic growth will be supported by investment realization in the first quarter of 2023, which reached IDR 328.9 trillion, an increase of 16.5% compared to the same period in 2022. The ministry expects that investment will continue to play a significant role in economic growth, despite the global prediction of a slowdown in 2023.
