On April 17, 2023, the CEO of PT Sarinah (Persero), Fetty Kwarta, stated that the sales level in Sarinah had increased by up to 30% prior to Eid al-Fitr. Fashion items such as Muslim clothing and food, drinks, and hampers were reported as the most popular items during Ramadan.
During Ramadan, tenants are offering various discount programs to boost sales, and Fetty optimistically expects visits and sales to continue to rise until Eid al-Fitr. Last year, Sarinah recorded up to 50,000 visitors per day during Eid al-Fitr, but this year, there may be fewer due to the "mudik" program. Sarinah will remain open during Eid al-Fitr, with operating hours from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM on the first day and from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM on the second day. Fetty hopes that Sarinah can be a choice for people in Jakarta and its surroundings to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, with various performances and events scheduled to take place during the holiday.
