The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Strengthens the Development of Farmers to produce Export Commodities

The Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is targeting the cultivation of two of its five leading commodities, namely tilapia and seaweed, which are prepared by the KKP as champion products in the fisheries sector. Through training entitled "Feed Management in Tilapia Cultivation" and "Pest and Disease Handling in Seaweed Cultivation", the KKP provides guidance to 1,105 participants from all over Indonesia who have joined online. These trainings aim to prepare human resources to support the cultivation of leading commodities oriented towards exports, in line with the ministry's program.

According to the Head of the Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources Agency (BRSDM), I Nyoman Radiarta, the KKP is making efforts to prepare human resources to support the cultivation of leading commodities oriented towards exports, as part of the ministry's program. The training emphasizes the management of tilapia feed and pest and disease management in seaweed, both of which are considered important in aquaculture.
