These institutions provide data that is considered valid and used to measure macro-level development. Ediyanus emphasizes that when assessing and disseminating the achievements of performance, such as economic growth, unemployment rate, poverty rate, and Human Development Index, the government, including the Riau Provincial Government, should use data from these sources. Although the data is presented in an aggregated manner, more in-depth analysis can still be conducted by examining the details, and certain sectoral releases are also available for synthesis.

Riau's economy, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency in 2022, grew by 4.55 percent, with the highest growth occurring in the transportation and warehousing sector. Although this sector's contribution to Riau's economic structure is relatively small, the market structure is competitive enough, allowing for the involvement of economic actors in this sector to be relatively open. The manufacturing industry, which is the largest proportion in Riau's economic structure, reached 27.36 percent and grew by 4.37 percent. Ediyanus mentioned that although large industries play a dominant role, the movement of this sector is able to boost other sectors that have more interaction with the community, such as the palm oil processing industry, which affects the livelihood of many households in Riau. Ediyanus emphasized that the achievements in economic development are not solely due to the development policies implemented by the Riau Provincial Government, but also the synergy between the government, private sector, and society, which is the key to the successes achieved.
