Exports of North Sulawesi Fishery Commodities Increase

The Fish Quarantine Station, Quality Control, and Fisheries Product Security (SKIPM) in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province, noted that the export of fishery commodities has been increasing each year. According to SKIPM Kendari's export data from 2021 and 2022, the export of fishery commodities amounted to 690.32 tons and 949.06 tons, respectively, with an increase of 258.74 tons annually.

The types of fishery commodities exported from Southeast Sulawesi in 2021 include Vannamei shrimp, octopus, canned crab meat, mangrove crabs, sea cucumbers, ornamental fish, and pearls. Most of the time, in 2022, the fishery commodities exported include Vannamei shrimp, octopus, canned crab meat, razor clams, mackerel, mangrove crabs, tuna, fresh grouper, red snapper, parrotfish, marine ornamental fish, live lobster, and pearls. The top destinations for exporting these items are Japan, the United States, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, France, Hong Kong, the Philippines, South Korea, Australia, the Netherlands, Thailand, and Malaysia, with Japan, the United States, and Singapore.
