Indonesia Promotes Natural and Organic Products at Canadian Health Food Exhibition

The Ministry of Trade through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Vancouver, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver, continues to promote natural, healthy, and organic products from Indonesia in the global market.

This time, the promotion is done through participation in the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) Natural Organic Wellness Breakthrough trade show. The exhibition, which takes place on April 1-2, 2023 at the Vancouver Convention Center in Canada, is attended by around 500 participants from both distributors and retailers in Canada.

"As an agrarian country with a diverse potential of processed plantation and agricultural products, Indonesia has the potential to market natural, healthy, and certified organic products to the global market, including to Canada. This exhibition is the right moment to promote Indonesia's unique natural, healthy, and certified organic products," said Didi Sumedi, Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade.

According to Didi, the potential for natural and organic products is expanding due to the increasing awareness and desire of consumers to consume natural, healthy, and organically managed products.

Canada is one of the largest consumers of natural and organic products in the world. Globally, Canada is one of the Top 10 Leading Countries in terms of the highest per capita consumption of processed organic products.

As many as 3.3% of fruits and vegetables sold in Canada are certified organic, with a market value of USD 5 million or equivalent to IDR 75 billion. In fact, every week, Canadian residents spend around IDR 2.3 million to buy organic products
