Anies told the officers to seal the buildings based on standard operating procedure. He went on to instruct the officers to do their duty in a civilized and respectful manner.
The move was necessary to make sure no violations happened in the city, Anies said.
“I hope you can do your duty well. After that, we will make sure that no violations of this kind happen elsewhere,” Anies said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
During the campaign period for the gubernatorial election last year, Anies promised to stop the reclamation project on the grounds that it would disrupt the livelihoods of fisherfolk.
Once installed as governor, Anies scrapped draft bylaws on the North Jakarta coastal spatial plan and the zoning plan on coastal areas and small islands (RZWP3K), both which were to serve as a basis to continue reclamation in Jakarta Bay, from the city’s 2018 legislation program (Balegda).
He also excluded the project from the 2018-2022 mid-term regional development plan (RPJMD). (cal)
