The government is carrying out a one million hectare archipelago harvest program at 66 points throughout Indonesia. One of them is in Bojonegoro, East Java. Head of the Bojonegoro Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP), Helmy Elisabeth said that Bojonegoro is increasingly being recognized as the third largest rice producer in East Java and of course a national food barn. Helmy said that this harvest took the theme of rice farmers for Indonesia, especially rice farmers in Bojonegoro for Indonesia. "This harvest activity takes the theme of our farmers' rice for Indonesia. I will add Bojonegoro rice farmers for Indonesia," he said, quoted Sunday (12/3/2023).
Harvested area for 2023 in January-February and predictions until the end of March is around 76,970 hectares of harvested area, which is equivalent to 437,189 tons of harvested dry grain. Helmy also asked the Ministry of Agriculture to provide support for Bojonegoro Regency. Meanwhile, the Head of the Subang Veterinary Center, Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Sodirun conveyed the harvest agenda in Bojonegoro to succeed in harvesting the archipelago of 1 million hectares which was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. Bojonegoro Regency is one of the selected points from 66 points throughout Indonesia. "This connection with the Archipelago's harvest is expected to increase the enthusiasm of farmers to farm, then PPL and the service, that the central government pays attention to agriculture," he said.
Furthermore, the Head of DKPP explained that Bojonegoro Regency, with a rice field area of nearly 83,197 hectares, is of course an asset and potential in the agricultural sector. This is intended so that the agricultural potential in Bojonegoro Regency becomes the backbone of the economic drive. Apart from that, Bojonegoro has recently executed an MOU with Bulog. So that in this event Bulog was present to ensure that Bojonegoro farmers had the opportunity to work with Bulog.
