Ministry of Agriculture Affirms Stock of Subsidized Fertilizers on Demand

The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) emphasized that the subsidized fertilizer stock prepared for this year is in accordance with demand. This is to refute information related to the scarcity of fertilizers during this year's planting season.
"The problem with fertilizers is always said to be lacking, rare. But if you check, for example, there are 100 villages, then there is one village or one hamlet that has an issue, don't think of all of them," said the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Sunday ( 19/2/2023).
However, the Ministry of Agriculture continues to accommodate information regarding this fertilizer, and immediately follows up on whether it is true that there is a shortage or there is a game.
"But (information on scarcity) is a message for me. If there is something like that, where? If there is an agent playing around, report it to me, I will stop it," he said.

Minister of Agriculture SYL explained, farmers who are entitled to subsidized fertilizers must be registered with e-Allocation, if not registered, then of course they will not receive subsidized fertilizer quotas.
"This is how fertilizer recipients must be registered in the e-allocation of their names, and it cannot be suddenly registered, it must be registered in the village. The district head proposes to the province, the province will select again, if there is an e-allocation, we just have to deal with it. For the current stock it's safe," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture Ali Jamil added, subsidized fertilizers are goods under supervision so that the fertilizer distribution mechanism is regulated and supervised at every level through five lines according to Permendag No 04/2023. The first line to the second line is controlled through the minister. Furthermore, the second line to the third line is controlled by the governor, as well as the fourth line is controlled by the regent or mayor, and the fifth line is controlled by the community and agents.
"Usually the fifth line is distributed by agents who have been appointed by the government," said Ali Jamil.

Previously, the government allocated 9,013,706 tons of subsidized fertilizer in 2023. This amount consisted of 5,570,330 tons of urea fertilizer, 3,232,373 tons of NPK, and 211,003 tons of special formula NPK. In its current implementation, the fertilizers that have been inputted and approved by the regent through the e-allocation application are 4.6 million tons of urea, 3.1 million tons of NPK and 114,033 tons of Special Formuka NPK.
He also emphasized that only farmers who have registered in the e-allocation system are entitled to subsidized fertilizer.
The requirements for subsidized fertilizers are getting tighter. Not just any plant can get subsidized fertilizer rations. The crops that can receive subsidized fertilizer are rice, corn, soybeans, chilies, shallots, garlic, sugarcane, coffee and cocoa.
