One of the MSME products in Blora Regency that has reached foreign export markets is teak root weevil craft. To be able to penetrate exports, of course, requires a long process and good quality crafts. As did Tri Agung Prasetyo, a teak root weft craftsman, from Tempelemahbang Village, Jepon District, Blora Regency. Thanks to his various works, his products can boost the popularity of Blora Regency in the international world. Amid busy preparing products to be exported, Tri Agung Prasetyo also told the process of sending the teak root weevil craft. "These are two containers for the Middle East, Riyadh and Latin America, namely Panama. For Riyadh, this is the third order. For Panama, it is the seventh time," said Tri Agung, Saturday (8/1/2022). During the export, Tri Agung has 15 buyers from 8 countries. Among others, Portugal, America, Arab, Dubai, France, Brazil, Panama, Portugal. In payment transactions, a cash sales system is carried out and there are no returns. "Initial order DP is 50 percent and the rest is just the day before it is sent. There is no system of payment or return, aka buying, that is broken. Including when there is an overload, the buyer is also replaced," explained the entrepreneur who has been in the teak industry since 2012.
According to Tri, the business he does has a standard reference. Although the root motif is slightly different, there must be similarities. Not all countries have the same standard, for example, Paris only accepts teak products, some countries prohibit certain wood products. "Teak root crafts are growing rapidly. Some are processed into statues, house properties such as tables, chairs, cupboards, doors, sketches, windows, souvenirs, and home decorations. Even now some are mixed and matched with processed glass, iron, resin," he explained. The 35-year-old entrepreneur also reminded me that the dryness of wood is very important when it is exported. "For wood quality, there are standards, especially regarding the level of wood dryness or moisture content. For wood with high moisture content, it is impossible to export. Because when it is in a hot container, the product will easily get moldy," he explained. "Unfortunately, in Blora there is no modern oven company. So I sent my goods to Jepara first to ride the oven. I took a truck there once an oven," said the owner of MSME in Blora Regency who is engaged in this teak root weevil craft.
