Travel agency TX Travel has compiled a vaccine tour package program in Bali for 14 days 13 nights. This package is set at IDR 4.1 million, including two vaccines and a one-room hotel for two people."The most important point for vaccine tourism in Bali is to increase the length of stay, which on average is now a week to two weeks," said TX Travel CEO Anton Thedy in a press briefing, Monday, June 28, 2021.
The idea of making vaccine tour packages emerged after a number of travel agents offered similar tours to several cities in the United States. This tour package is said to have received quite a high interest from Indonesian tourists. To capture these tourist opportunities, travel agents are also working with the government to develop standard vaccine-based travel packages with pilot locations in Bali. Bali was chosen because it is claimed to be the province with the best national vaccination acceleration. The achievement of the Bali vaccination target reached 277.94 percent for the first dose and 100.74 percent for the second dose as of June 22.
As for the first stage, the vaccine tour package applies to domestic tourists. Tourists will get free vaccines from the government under the Sinovac brand. TX Travel, said Thedy, is collaborating with BMW Tour to promote this package to 256 branches and 12 thousand resellers throughout Indonesia. "We will mobilize to promote this tour package," said Thedy.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno explained that the concept of a vaccine tour package was a direct request from President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. This program is carried out to help accelerate the implementation of national vaccinations. "In addition, vaccine tourism provides added value for the attractiveness of Bali, and added economic value because tourists stay long enough, at least 15 days," said Sandiaga. Sandiaga explained that the vaccine tourism market segment in Bali is Nusantara tourists who live in other provinces with low vaccination rates. Sandiaga explained that the vaccine used for this program uses the allocation of vaccines that have been distributed to the regions.
If this program is successful, Sandiaga will open a vaccine tourism option in the future to be opened for foreign tourists. For foreign tourists, the vaccine used in this tour package is a paid vaccine in the form of a mutual cooperation vaccine or an independent vaccine.
