Minister of BUMN and Chairman of the Central Board of the Sharia Economic Community, Erick Thohir, inaugurated the online opening of the Eid Al Fitr Creative and Tourism (ECT) Expo 2021.
The event, which is held the day after the Eid holiday, is expected to be able to restore and stimulate tourism and creative MSMEs in Indonesia.
"I appreciate and welcome the holding of the ECT Expo 2021. On the first day of work after the Idul Fitri moment, MES immediately held activities that encourage recovery and stimulate the creative economy sector," said Erick in his virtual remarks, Monday (17/5/2021).
Erick said that this event is expected to be the locomotive of the halal industry, not only in Indonesia but also globally. This can be done by taking advantage of technological advances and the participation / collaboration of the government and the private sector.
"Of course, taking advantage of the development of digital technology is currently an important part. "Hopefully we can create a global expo for Indonesia at the end of this year," he said.
Erick also said that building a business was not only a product that was successfully bought by the community, but also sustainable and relevant to its time. Therefore, business actors in the creative sector are expected to be able to adapt to today's needs.
"A successful product must be sustainable and relevant during a pandemic and post-pandemic life, which will change again. Even though the pandemic is full of challenges, I invite MES ecosystem entrepreneurs to not only focus on maintaining the business but also developing it, "he said.
Erick hopes that by holding an online exhibition, it can provide guidance to business people about current and future consumer needs. That way creative business actors can adapt and adjust.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said that the Eid Al Fitr Creative and Tourism Expo 2021 was expected to be able to move MSMEs in the creative sector and improve the skills of business people to carry out their business by utilizing digital technology.
"With this activity, it is hoped that it can mobilize MSMEs, improve skills so that our MSMEs can carry out their business virtually. Let us present a just economy, where with this Expo, national economic recovery can be executed on target, on benefits and on time, "he said.
