Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade successfully concluded its trade mission, “Where Spices Tell Stories,” in the Netherlands from October 29 to November 1, 2025, securing potential transactions worth USD 14.6 million (approximately IDR 239.4 billion). This achievement signals strong European interest in Indonesian spices and seasonings, reflecting optimism for the country’s export performance in the global spice market.
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, highlighted that European importers value Indonesia’s spices for their distinctive aroma and quality, aligning with the region’s growing demand for organic and sustainable food products. The business forum and matching sessions, held at Indonesia House in Amsterdam, connected ten Indonesian spice producers with buyers from the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Participants also visited major importers such as Amboina, Nesia Food BV, Bina BV, and INA Trading/Furnilux to study import and distribution systems, while meetings with CBI and RVO discussed export capacity strengthening and market access for the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
