A lobster culinary center has also been opened in that area. Its name is Kampung Lobster ( Lobster Village). Kampung Lobster is known as a place for lobster cultivation as well as a center for lobster culinary which is located in one place, namely on the coast of Bangsring Village, Wongsorejo District, Banyuwangi. Kampung Lobster, which was established in 2020, offers fresh lobster seafood culinary products and diving tours to see the lobster cultivation ecosystem under the sea and culinary tours of various seafood, lobster and fish dishes. Suwardi, Manager of Kampung Lobster, explained that his party has developed around 300 cages, each cage containing 50 to 100 lobster seeds. "Our lobster cultivation starts from the initial stage, namely in the form of seeds. We raise them on the seabed at a depth of 15 to 20 meters," said Suwardi to Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani who had the opportunity to visit Kampung Lobster.
Lobster from Bangsring Village is exported to China and Taiwan. The lobsters that are cultivated are sand lobsters and pearl lobsters. Both have similar taste profiles. "We send an average of 100 - 200 kg of exports per month," he said. In Kampung Lobster, delicious lobster dishes are offered with special recipes. For those who enjoy the authentic taste of seafood, they also provide boiled lobster. "We also have a menu of sea fish, crab, shellfish, and squid. Not only lobster," said Suwardi. Regent Ipuk admitted that he really appreciated this lobster cultivation. According to him, this is a form of downstreaming. From lobster cultivation in underwater cages to being enjoyed as a culinary product. At the same time, there is an element of empowering local residents.
