Exports from East Java to the United States consistently dominate the rankings, contributing to East Java's economic growth. In 2024, East Java's export value to the United States was USD 3.39 billion, followed by Japan at USD 3.72 billion, and China at USD 3.22 billion. In addition, in 2024, the value of non-oil and gas exports reached USD 24.91 billion, including jewellery at USD 4.95 billion, copper at USD 2.20 billion, animal/vegetable fats and oils at USD 1.76 billion, organic chemicals at USD 1.24 billion, fisheries at USD 1.17 billion, chemical products at USD 869.11 million, paper at USD 794.59 million, cocoa and processed cocoa at USD 772.55 million, and coffee, tea and spices at USD 772.32 million. Following the introduction of a reciprocal tariff policy by the United States, affecting East Java's export activities, the Head of the Foreign Trade Development Division of the East Java Industry and Trade Office, Erivina Lucky Kristian, has stated that the East Java Provincial Government has convened meetings with business stakeholders and urged companies not to rush to lay off their employees. Furthermore, Erivina stated that the government can develop cooperation with new market countries, including countries in Africa, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
