Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan officially inaugurated the export of margarine (palm fat) from PT Domus Jaya in South Lampung on Thursday (5/9/2024). The Minister emphasized that the government is committed to encouraging the export of value-added Indonesian products. Such products are expected to boost the economy, positioning Indonesia as a developed country by 2045. PT Domus Jaya’s margarine exports to Greece are valued at USD 61.70 thousand for the September 2024 period, with plans for further exports to Croatia worth USD 82.26 thousand. Zulkifli highlighted the importance of processing raw materials, such as palm oil, into finished products like margarine to increase their value. The government fully supports value-added exports.
Additionally, the Minister noted that the government is responsible for creating clear regulations to optimize business operations. These regulations aim to foster growth in the business sector, benefiting both the public and the state. "If businesses succeed and generate profits, the state will benefit from taxes, and more job opportunities will be created," he said. Over the past four years (2019-2023), Indonesian palm fat exports, under HS code 15179043, have shown a positive trend, with an average annual increase of 38.04 %. Key export destinations include China, Nigeria, Algeria, the United States, and Vietnam.
